Frequently asked questions
How do I install the widget?
Choose the base currency and the currencies you want to display, then adjust the appearance. Read and accept the terms of use and widget licence to reveal the embed code. Paste it into a custom HTML or embed block on your website. Your publishing platform must allow JavaScript; a plain-text or rich-text editor may remove it.
Is it free for a business website?
Yes. The standard hosted widget is free for personal and business websites under our widget licence, provided its credit and links remain visible and working. You do not need to create an account. The wider website may earn commissions from provider referrals; that does not turn the displayed rate into a provider quote.
Which websites can use it?
You can add it to lawful websites you own or are authorised to manage, including blogs, business sites and community pages. Your platform must support the embed. The licence permits displaying the widget; it does not permit repackaging its output as a bulk data feed or removing its attribution.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
The widget uses the same exchange-rate feed as the Currency.me.uk converter. It checks for an updated snapshot about once a minute while visible, but the underlying data may update less frequently or pause when markets are closed. The timestamp identifies the available feed data. Rates are indicative, shown to two decimal places and may differ from a bank or transfer provider’s final rate and fees.
What can visitors change?
The rates table and converter share one amount. Change it in either view and it carries across when you switch tabs. In the table, visitors can change the base currency; target rows remain fixed by your embed settings. The converter starts with your base and first target, and lets visitors choose both currencies. Choosing the same currency as the other side swaps the pair, so the two are always different. The centre button also swaps the currencies while keeping the amount. Currency dropdowns show 10 popular choices before the complete list. Results use two decimal places and number formatting follows the selected language.
